    Michelle and Barack Obama visited Jobs Have Priority Naylor Road Family Shelter in Washington, D.C., to help paint a mural of Dr. King in the community room. The mural, called the "Wall of Hope," features a large painting of King’s face surrounded by butterflies, reported The Washington Post

    While speaking to the press and celebrating their presence, the president joked about the butterfly he was working on. 

  • Although President-elect trump met with Martin Luther King III, many focused on his decision to spend the holiday weekend attacking the civil rights hero, congressman john lewis

  • And many praised President Obama for finishing his final days in office with class and dignity
