On Monday, former first daughter Malia Obama began making her own political decisions as a citizen and joined a rally protesting President Trump’s executive actions to continue the Dakota Access pipeline project.
As the rally carried on in the cold, protesters held up signs that read, "Exist Resist Rise" and "Impeach Corporate Control."
This is why the rally was held directly in front of the Chase Sapphire on Main Lounge of the festival. Chase Bank is a known investor in the pipeline.
After the protests were held during the day, Malia and a few select individuals attended a private event with Standing Rock Sioux Chairman Dave Archambault. Last month, Archambault applauded Barack Obama for putting a stop to the pipeline, reported Daily Mail.
