People Are Hilariously Pointing Out George H.W. Bush Missed Trump's Inauguration But Made the Super Bowl

People Are Hilariously Pointing Out George H.W. Bush Missed Trump's Inauguration But Made the Super Bowl

Others think the joke about the former president is in poor taste.

  1. Before the start of Super Bowl 51, former president George H.W. Bush and his wife Barbara came out to do the coin toss
  2. Although the former first couple is still recovering from a stay in the hospital, many could not help but find it funny that they missed the inauguration but made the big game

    Just a week ago, George H. W. Bush was in the intensive care unit of a Houston hospital. He has since recovered from pneumonia and was able to be wheeled out by a military service member with his wife Barbara riding a golf cart next to him.

     

  3. The appearance of the Bushs ignited a new found respect for the former president

    At age 92, George H.W. Bush is the oldest living president. 

  4. Before the game was over, the joke about Bush Sr.'s presence took on a life of its own
  5. However, some found the joke to be offensive considering the pair was hospitalized before the inauguration
  6. The criticism of those making jokes was met by a great number of people defending the right to make a harmless joke
  7. All in all, it appeared most people, including a well-known former first daughter, were happy to see the bush family alive and well
