Louisiana Politician Says His Blackface Tiger Woods Costume Was Just 'A Fun Night at Church'

Robbie Gatti has not admitted to doing anything wrong while many are calling for him to drop out of the race.

A Louisiana politician has doubled down on his decision to wear blackface when he dressed up as Tiger Woods for a party. Robbie Gatti defended his actions by claiming that he was just having a “good night at church,” according to New York Daily News.

Gatti is up for a state legislature seat in a special election in March. However, the photo, which was taken several years ago, was discovered and published by Louisiana local politics site The Hayride.

Although Gatti confirmed his identity in the photo, he did not offer an apology to anyone offended.

  • Gatti still has not dropped out of the race and appears to believe this will not affect his voters

  • Although some people have still pledged to vote for him, many are demanding that he drop out of the race
