Update April 7:
An Uber spokesperson confirmed that the woman captured by the dashcam of the unidentified driver has been banned for life from the car service. Additionally, the driver has met with Uber officials at the company office to discuss the situation.
While at the Uber offices, the driver was told he would be given “some amount of money" as well as multiple phone chargers. The company appreciated the driver's resolve and his instinct to record the situation, reported The Root.
The driver has since recorded a new video thanking everyone for the support and advising all drivers to record their trips.
“I got a message for every single Uber driver out there. You better invest in a f**king dashcam, bro. Because being an Uber driver is putting your life in jeopardy if you don’t have a ... dashcam,” he said. “Make sure you buy a dashcam, bro. It could save your life. It saved my life.”
Previous April 6:
An Uber driver in the Bronx recorded an enraged and disrespectful woman during what some are calling the “car ride from hell.” During the ride, the irate Bronx woman threatened to falsely accuse the Uber driver of rape and violence because he did not have a charger and refused to call her boyfriend.
“I’m going to start screaming out the window that you’re raping me, that you raped me,” the woman said in the dashcam video, originally posted by LiveLeak.
“I will punch myself in the face and tell the cops you did it,” she threatened. “You wanna play?”
During the short ride, which took place on Monday, the woman told the driver to “go back to your country” and kicked his vehicle.
“Donald Trump going to send you and your family back,” she yelled. “Get the f**k out of my country.”
The atrocious encounter began when the driver did not have a phone charger for the woman — a courtesy she mistakenly thought was mandatory.
“If I don’t have a charger, politely ask me. I’ll politely tell you, ‘I’m sorry, I don’t have a charger,'” the driver calmly said. “But you start disrespecting me.”
“You do. You’re supposed to,” the woman said regarding him not having a charger.
“The behavior in this video is abusive and completely unacceptable,” an Uber spokesperson told Daily Mail Online. “As our Community Guidelines make clear, this will not be tolerated by anyone who uses Uber. The rider’s account has been banned and Uber is looking into this incident.”
