A California law student planned to have a peaceful Presidents' Day weekend in the mountains with her fiancé and friends. However, Dyne Suh’s relaxing trip to Big Bear turned into a nightmare when her Airbnb host canceled her stay when she was just three minutes from the cabin.

The reason according to the host? “One word says it all. Asian”

  1. When a conversation about having additional people in the home became racist, Suh took screenshots to report the host

"We were looking forward to it, especially with law school and working and being really busy," Suh told NBC4 Los Angeles. "It was a welcome break."

When Suh was told that she could no longer come to the cabin because she was Asian, she said her heart sank.

"I will report to Airbnb that you are racist," Suh texted back to the host.

However, the host callously replied back using President Trump as a defense.

"Go ahead...It's why we have Trump...I will not allow this country to be told what to do by foreigners," the host responded.

  2. When first speaking with NBC 4, Suh broke down in tears

Suh, who said she’s been here since she was 3, felt completely devastated by the racism demonstrated by the host.

"This is home to me," Suh said. "No matter how long I've lived here, for me to be treated this way just because of my race?"

  3. ""

Airbnb issued a statement to NBC4, wherein they call the host's treatment of Suh "abhorrent and unacceptable."

"We have worked to provide the guest with our full support and in line with our non-discrimination policy, this host has been permanently removed from the Airbnb platform," said Christopher Nulty, spokesman for Airbnb.
