After reportedly unleashing a racist and sexist tirade during private conversations with Black colleagues, Florida state Senator Frank Artiles is facing extreme pressure to resign from his post.

One night after hours, Artiles was having drinks at the Governors Club with fellow Senators Audrey Gibson and Perry Thurston, who are both Black. When the conversation focused on Senate President Joe Negron, Artiles said he became the senate president because "six n****s" in the Republican caucus elected him, reported The Miami Herald.

In addition, Gibson alleged that Artiles referred to her as  “this f**king a**hole” and “this b***h."

Artiles reportedly apologized to Gibson late Tuesday afternoon, only after he was reported to Republicans leaders.

  1. On Thursday, Artiles offered a public apology to his two colleagues
  2. However, the Black caucus called for his immediate removal from his position
  3. Additionally, people from Florida and out of the state have called for him to resign
