People Are Rolling Their Eyes at Donald Trump for Tweeting About a Potential Trade Standoff With Canada

Has the president been watching 'South Park'?

President Trump may have suggested trade changes with our neighbors up north could soon be a reality. On Tuesday the president announced there would now be a 20% tariff on Canadian softwood lumber imports. Free trade with Canada has always strengthened our alliance with the northern country; however, based on Trump’s recent statements, the US-Canada relationship may not be so friendly.

  1. Additionally, the president sent a tweet suggesting that he may start going after Canada's dairy industry

If Trump were to attempt to go after Canada's dairy industry, the relationship with the country could be severely tarnished, as they will fight to keep American's out of the multi-billion dollar dairy market.

  2. Needless to say, many Americans believe threatening our closest ally would not be a smart move
  3. Some joked a possible trade war with Canada means the president may have started watching episodes of South Park
