During a women’s panel in Germany, first daughter Ivanka Trump encountered tough questions and an even tougher audience. During the W-20 panel summit, Trump was met by a round of boos and jeers when she called her father a "tremendous champion of supporting families."
Trump joined German Chancellor Angela Merkel and other international women to speak about women’s entrepreneurship and equality. After calling out Trump about his attitudes towards women, Ivanka Trump attempted to use personal experience to defend her father.
Ivanka said when she was growing up, Donald Trump "encouraged me and enabled me to thrive."
Upon hearing the boos from the audience, the panel moderator, Wirtschaftswoche editor-in-chief Miriam Meckel called on Trump to respond.
“You hear the reaction from the audience,” Meckel said. “I need to address one more point — some attitudes toward women your father has displayed might leave one questioning whether he’s such an empower-er for women.”
