After Beyoncé recently announced the creation of her Formation Scholars program, people have applauded and thanked the artist for empowering young women in their educational pursuits.
Of the many people to congratulate the Lemonade singer, one particular message stood out above the rest.
On the one-year anniversary of her album Lemonade, Beyoncé announced the Formation Scholars program. The scholarship will launch for the 2017-2018 school year.
According to her website, the "Formation Scholars" will "encourage and support young women who are unafraid to think outside the box and are bold, conscious and confident." The scholarship will be available for the 2017-2018 school year.
Berklee College of Music, Howard University, Parsons School of Design and Spelman College are the participating institutions. Each school will award one incoming female student, current student, or graduate student studying creative arts, music, literature or African-American studies.
Information on how to apply can be found within each school.
