On Wednesday, family, friends, politicians and strangers gathered in Charlottesville, Virginia, to mourn the loss of 32-year-old Heather Heyer.
The memorial was attended by many people who wished to pay tribute to the activism and spirit of Heather Heyer.
Although multiple people made remarks during the service, it was Heather's parents who captured the attention of many by their beautiful words honoring their daughter's life and death.
"I'd rather have my child, but if I've got to give her up, by golly, we're gonna make it count," she said. "I want this to spread, I don't want this to die. This is just the beginning of Heather's legacy."
