Parents of two 13-year-olds who are a couple are searching for their children after they reportedly vanished together over the weekend.
Jeremy Ogden and girlfriend Halie Journet, who are both from the Houston area, were last seen early Sunday morning (August 20). They supposedly left in Ogden’s sister’s gray Nissan Altima.
Toni Ogden, Jeremy’s mother, said her son potentially could have left because he’s still grieving his older brother’s death. According to her, they were very close.
“His oldest brother was his best friend and his idol,” she told local station KPRC 2. “He was active-service military. That's been really hard on him.”
Jeremy’s brother, Fort Hood soldier Justen Ogden, was found unresponsive in his home on July 11. His death is still being investigated with the cause still unknown.
The Ogden family believes the young couple are still in the Houston area in the gray Altima. The vehicle has paper tags and a cheetah print license plate cover.
“We've been driving around, searching the streets, searching the neighborhoods, searching anywhere he might go,” Toni told the station.
Andre Journet, Halie’s dad, says he’s not mad with his daughter and hopes for her safe return.
“We want her to just come home,” he said. “We can work anything out.”
