Woman Charged After Filming Unconscious Friend's Rape And Posting It To Snapchat

Beth Rae Harris took the video following a fight with the victim.

A fight over a man resulted in one Chicago woman getting charged with nonconsensual dissemination of sexual images after posting videos of her friend getting raped to Snapchat, reported DNAinfo.

Beth Rae Harris, 36, and her friend, the victim, were at a party on August 24 when the two got into an argument over a man, said Assistant State's Attorney Nora Gill. After the fight ended, Harris and the victim went to a club and hotel party together.

At the hotel, the 23-year-old victim drank heavily and went back to Harris’s apartment where she passed out, according to prosecutors.

After her friend was unconscious, Harris allegedly encouraged several men to rape the unidentified 23-year-old.

Harris filmed the rape of her unconscious friend, posted videos of the attack to Snapchat and at one point narrated sexual assault, prosecutors said Thursday.

When the victim woke up the next morning, she found herself completely naked and sore, prosecutors said. Harris told the victim "that a man had had sex with [her] while [she] was passed out."

Once the woman went home, she realized Harris used her phone to post graphic videos of her getting sexually assaulted. Witnesses who saw the posts were able to identify Harris.

Cook County Judge James Brown on Thursday set bail for Harris at $150,000.
