More details are coming out about the mother who fatally left her one-year-old daughter in a hot car for hours while she got her hair done.
Previously, we reported about the incident that took the life of 25-year-old Dijanelle Fowler’s infant back in July. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Fowler was denied bond after being charged with second-degree murder, child cruelty and concealing a death. Now, even more shocking revelations are being revealed.
The newspaper is reporting that Fowler remarked to her hairstylist that she was in “no rush” to get her hair done and to “take your time.” She also said that her baby was in daycare, so the hairstylist had no reason to be alarmed. Fowler had traveled to the area of the tragic incident from her home in South Carolina and claimed she was in town for a job interview.
What makes this so strange is that previous reports reveal that the young women was very “picky” about potential babysitters for her young one.
Surveillance footage shows Fowler returning to her car at 4 pm and getting a man at the salon’s help to restart her car. She did not notify police at the time.
According to an arrest warrant, baby Skylar was found dead in an Emory University Hospital parking deck just before 5 p.m. Police said Fowler claimed she had experienced a “seizure of some kind,” but while at the scene, they noticed Skylar was unresponsive in the back seat.
The medical examiner’s office believes Skylar had been dead for “some period of time.” This led police to investigate the holes in Fowler’s timeline of events. She was subsequently arrested.
