A Teary Bun B Breaks Down The Truth About What's Going On In Communities Ravaged By Hurricane Harvey

The Houston rapper is leading a relief telethon for hurricane victims.

Although Tropical Storm Harvey has come and gone, relief efforts in Houston and surrounding areas are still underway and rapper Bun B wants everyone to know about the poor communities that have been neglected by federal responders.

After the storm made its way through Houston and left many of the city's residents with no escape, FEMA, the Red Cross, and other national institutions helped rescue thousands of people.

However, when Bun B and others traveled to Houston to help with rescue efforts, he saw communities of people with no relief in sight.

In a video posted by ATTN:, Bun B speaks emotionally speaks on he saw certain areas get preferential treatment over others.

"They weren't sitting in those projects waiting for FEMA. They weren't sitting there waiting for Red Cross. They were waiting for us," Bun B tearfully told ATTN:.

The rapper then went on to describe how people in the outskirts of Houston who live in housing projects were completely neglected. He also said that if people in larger communities need help, he wants to provide it, but for the people in the poor neighborhoods, help has not been as readily available.

"We're fighting a zip code fight right now," Bun B added. "For the people in these projects that everyone forgot about, there is no 'if,' it's a 'must.'"

The atrocities of Harvey and possible devastation from Irma has inspired Bun B to lead a telethon to raise money for disaster relief.

Bun B partnered with his friend and manager of Justin Beiber, Scooter Braun, who helped get big names like Beyonce Knowles, Oprah Winfrey, Michael Strahan, Jamie Foxx, Matthew McConaughey, George Strait, George Clooney, Justin Bieber, Adam Sandler, Barbra Streisand, Blake Shelton, Julia Roberts, Kelly Rowland, and many others to help with the telethon, reported Click2Houston.
