The death of 19-year-old Kenneka Jenkins has become a widely discussed and speculated topic over the last few days. While many details of the case remain unknown, Jenkins' sister has opened up to reporters about the inconsistencies she finds most troubling.
Leonore Harris, Jenkins' sister, was recently recorded speaking to the media regarding her thoughts on the case. While being questioned by multiple news outlets, Harris said the freezer where her sister was found "was warm" and Jenkin's hair seem disheveled when she viewed the body.
Clips from the statements given by Harris were posted to The Shade Room.
On Sunday, Jenkins was found in a walk-in freezer of a Rosemont hotel. The Chicago teen was reported missing after her friends say she disappeared during a party at the hotel. As the case has progressed, people on different social media outlets have speculated as to what happened to the teen.
Already, multiple people have blamed the other people at the party and even suggested Jenkins was set up.
"It's unfortunate that some of that stuff's convoluting the investigation because all those leads have got to be followed up on," Stephens told the Chicago Tribune.
"As I'm sure you've seen, there's a lot of different, conflicting speculation out there, so [police] are doing their best to come to a quick resolution, obviously. I think everybody wants to know what happened."
In the clip posted by the The Shade Room, Harris asks people to stop judging her sister for the clothes she wore the night of the party and stop spreading rumors Kenneka went to the hotel to "sell" something.
