A woman was shot dead inside a home while she was cooking Thanksgiving dinner.
34-year-old Adrian Scott was pronounced dead at a hospital shortly before 1:30 pm on Thursday. Scott was with her family in the northeast Columbus, Ohio home, according to the Columbus Dispatch.
Scott’s boyfriend, Jared White, says she was standing at the kitchen table preparing macaroni and cheese when the gunfire began. What makes it all the more tragic is that White was planning on proposing to her.
“She was kind. She was sweet, caring, loving, passionate. She loved making people smile,” Jared White told CBS affiliate WBNS 10tv News. “I was holding her and she was trying to say something and I don't know what she was saying but she gasps and I was telling her to fight and stay strong.”
White also revealed that Scott suffered from Multiple Sclerosis, but noted that she never let it get in her way.
A neighbor told a 911 dispatcher he heard at least 20 shots. There’s no suspect or motive currently known, according to Columbus Police. White says the shooting is a mystery to him. His holiday wish?
"I just want justice for her,” he said. “She didn't deserve this."
