When police were called to a domestic dispute at a McDonald’s in Florida, they thought they’d simply be absolving a fight. However, when they arrived at the scene, they soon discovered they were dealing with a disturbing case of child molestation and sexual abuse.

On Tuesday, a disturbance occurred at the Lake City fast food location between 54-year-old George and two other women. According to police, the fight occurred when one woman, Avery’s girlfriend, discovered a video of him sexually assaulting a child on his tablet. The other woman involved in the fight was the mother of the 9-year-old girl in the video, reported News 4 Jax.

Avery is accused of sexual battery of a child, child abuse and possession of child pornography, according to Lake City police.

According to Avery’s girlfriend, she was playing a game on the tablet when she stumbled upon a video of him performing sexual acts on someone else. She then showed the video to her friend, believing her boyfriend was cheating with another woman. However, when the friend viewed the clip, she recognized the person in the video as her own 9-year-old daughter.

Both women wish to remain anonymous.

"I'm the one that found it and I didn't look at it good. I thought it was some other woman," Avery's girlfriend told News4Jax on Wednesday.

When the two woman confronted Avery, the situation escalated, prompting witnesses to phone police.

Police said investigators, as well as the Department of Children and Families, learned that sexual contact allegedly occurred between Avery and the child three or four times and the video in question was recorded over Thanksgiving.

In addition to the horrible acts performed in the video, Avery reportedly smiled at the camera.

“It saddens me that this child had to undergo such heinous abuse,” Chief Argatha Gilmore told News 4 Jax. “At this point, the child is safely back with her mother. We will work hand-in-hand with DCF to uncover the extent of this abuse.”
