Trump Dragged After Taking Credit For Lower Black Unemployment Rates In Tweet To Kanye and Chance

"He benefits from inheriting a solid economy built on Obama policies."

In a recent tweet, President Donald Trump managed to both take credit for major accomplishments of Barack Obama and drag Chance The Rapper into his social media bromace with Kanye West.

After the "Life of Pablo" rapper tweet his admiration for Trump as a "free thinker," the president came to his defense while also taking credit for the low Black unemployment rate.

  1. On Friday morning, Trump tweeted that he is responsible for the lowest Black and Hispanic unemployment rate in history

“Kanye West has performed a great service to the Black Community,” the president wrote. “Big things are happening and eyes are being opened for the first time in Decades – Legacy Stuff! Thank you also to Chance and Dr. Darrell Scott, they really get it (lowest Black & Hispanic unemployment in history).

The president also thanked Chance for tweeting Black people don't have to be Democrats in support of his friend Kanye. Despite taking up the Yeezy, Chance the Rapper has never spoken favorably about the president.

  2. First of all, Trump cannot take full credit for the Black and Brown unemployment rate

According to political fact-checking site PolitiFact, the Black and Hispanic unemployment rates are low, but not record breaking.

As of March 2018, the unemployment rate for African-Americans was about 6.9 percent; however, the lowest rate was 6.8 percent in December 2017. Although this was still under Trump's presidency, most economists say this number is also reflective of policies put in place by President Obama, as the Black unemployment rate was on a steady decline during his terms.

Additionally, the Hispanic unemployment rate was 5.1 percent in March 2018. Again, not as low as the actual record of 4.8 percent which occurred three times in 2017. Yes, Trump was president at this time, but Obama should be credited for this as well.

  3. Trump was slammed for coming into office when the unemployment rate was on the decline and putting his name on Obama's work
  4. After getting pulled into the Trump/Kanye mess, Chance the Rapper cleared the air
