In today’s Becky calls the police news: A black woman had the police called on her by a white female after finding shelter from a storm in the doorway of a Brooklyn apartment building.

Darsell Obregon took video of the incident in the neighborhood of Park Slope and posted it to Facebook. She claims she was on her way to a subway station when the rain began and tried to find cover in a small space outside the apartment building. She ended up calling in an Uber.

The white woman, now identified as Arabella Juniper Torres, came out of the building and demanded that she leave. “No more than three minutes later a young woman who lives in the building opened the front door and told me that I can not stand there and had to leave,” Obregon wrote under the video in her Facebook post. “I told her I was not going to move (unbeknownst to her I was just waiting for my ride and would be leaving in a couple of minutes) so then she proceeded to call the police…”

In the video you can see Becky, sorry, Arabella attempt to whitesplain why she can’t stand in the doorway for shelter. “Ma'am this is not public property,” Torres told the dispatcher. “So you're sending an officer because now she's recording me? I asked her to leave and now she's refusing.”

Later, the Uber arrived and Torres tried to claim the driver was “commiting a crime” by trying to leave, even though Obregon leaving was what she originally wanted.

This is just the latest incident of a white woman calling the cops on a black person or people for simply living life. First it was #BBQBecky, then it was #PermitPatty. And then we met #PoolPatrolPaul. Remember: it costs nothing to mind your own business, and so much to have your racism caught on camera.
