The family of a young Arizona woman is desperately praying for her safe return after she went missing 10 days ago.

CBS affiliate KPHO-TV reports Kiera Bergman, 19, was last seen at her Phoenix-area apartment complex on Aug. 4. One of her roommates said Bergman sent a text message that said she was going out with someone she had just met and then never came home.

"She was saying that she was going to go out with some guy that she met at the store a couple days ago, which is something that's not like her, I mean, that's not something that she would do," Destiny Hall-Chand told KPHO-TV.

Last Monday when Bergman didn’t come to work, her roommate called Kiera's mother, Kiersten Bragg, to let her know about the situation. Bergman's family then traveled from San Diego to Arizona in order to post fliers and ask the community for help finding Kiera.

"This is my worst nightmare," Bragg told KPHO-TV. "... For it to now be a week and her not getting in contact with anybody, this is not Kiera."

According Bergman’s family, the 19-year-old originally grew up in San Diego but moved to Phoenix in March to be with her boyfriend. Phoenix police still don't have any information on her whereabouts.

On Saturday, her family and friends placed flowers at the door to her apartment.

"We are just being flooded with messages and people telling us that they're praying for us and praying that she comes home safe," Bragg said at a vigil.

Bergman's family has set up a GoFundMe page to help with their travel and search expenses.

“Kiera Bergman, my cousin went missing on Saturday August 4th in the Phoenix/ Glendale area,” Jessica C wrote on the GoFundMe page.

“She has not been seen since. Her family as well as myself are worried sick about my cousin. We pray that she comes home safe to her family very very soon! I would like to start this go fund me to help raise money to help my cousin family in their search efforts. To help them afford the cost of the hotels, taking time off work, gas, you name it.”
