A California surgeon who once appeared on a Bravo dating show has been accused, along with his girlfriend, of drugging and raping multiple women.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Orange County prosecutors accused Dr. Grant William Robicheaux, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who says he repairs sponsored athletes, and his girlfriend, Cerissa Laura Riley, of drugging and raping two women in separate assaults. The prosecutors have reason to believe there are many more alleged victims. Orange County Dist. Atty. Tony Rackauckas said Tuesday that Robicheaux and Riley were “good-looking people” who used their appeal to lure women from bars and festivals such as Burning Man.

Robicheaux, 38, and Riley, 31, are accused of drugging their victims or getting them drunk before bringing them back to his Newport Beach residence, where the couple would sexually abuse the women.

In 2014, Robicheaux appeared on the Bravo show “Online Dating Rituals of the American Male,” which followed him as he looked for a girlfriend.

During a search of Robicheaux’s residence, detectives, Rackauckas said, found a video of the sex acts with one of the two identified victims.

“There are a substantial number of videos. I cannot tell you if it is tens or hundreds, it is certainly more than tens,” the prosecutor told the LA Times. “It appears they are highly intoxicated beyond the ability to consent or resist, they are barely responsive to the defendants' sexual advances.”

The couple now face multiple felony counts including rape by drugs, oral copulation by anesthesia and assault with intent to commit sexual offenses.

Robicheaux and his girlfriend were first mentioned to authorities when the surgeon’s neighbor heard a woman screaming for help on Oct. 2, 2016. The neighbor called the police, who spoke with the woman. She said she met the couple at a Newport Beach bar, where they gave her drinks until the alleged victim was no longer conscious. They allegedly brought her to Robicheaux's apartment and began “sexually assaulting her with the intent to commit rape,” officials said.

Earlier in 2016, a 32-year-old woman met the couple in a local restaurant, where they invited her to a party. After consuming large amounts of alcohol, she was taken to Robicheaux’s residence for an after-party. At the apartment, prosecutors allege, they drugged, raped, and orally copulated her.

The California medical board has opened an investigation into Robicheaux’s conduct.

Robicheaux and Riley are free on $100,000 bail each.
