Detroit Tigers fans are considering not ordering any food at Comerica Park baseball stadium after a viral video showed an employee spitting on pizza meant for customers.
After the video was posted to social media, Jaylon Kerley, 20, was arrested and charged with felony and misdemeanor food law violations, reported The Associated Press.
Kerley was arrested Sunday after appearing in the video, which was recorded Friday during a game against the Detroit Tigers and the Kansas City Royals.
In addition to the charges, the Comerica Park food service worker was ordered to get tested for infectious diseases, including a hepatitis panel, Fox 2 Detroit reported.
Once the video went viral, people of Detroit and around the county slammed the worker for putting people at risk.
The employee who posted the video, which has since been removed from Instagram, said Kerley spat on the pizzas "[because] the supervisor kept yelling at him" that day. The employee also revealed he was fired for posting the video.
“The customers don’t deserve this!! This is disgusting! And for the company to threaten me and let me go for exposing this video to the fans is also disgusting!!”
Kerley’s bond was set at 10 percent of $100,000 and he is due back in court on Oct. 3.
