The three to 10 years sentence handed to Bill Cosby after he was found guilty of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand has resulted in widespread debate. However, one conversation sparked by DL Hughley examined the imbalance of justice surrounding men accused of assaults which occurred decades ago.
While it's no secret that DL and Cosby have not always seen eye to eye, especially when it comes to their comedic styles, the radio host did not shy away from pointing out that Cosby is going to prison for a past assault while Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh is still in consideration for the most coveted position in the American justice system.
While no one is saying Cosby should not have been tried or convicted the decades-old sexual assault, they are pointing out how when it comes to the cases of celebrity or high profile rapists, only the elderly Black man is the one going to prison... for now.
