'Ugly Black Bastard,' Viral Video Shows Old White Man Yelling Racial Slurs At Black Woman On A Flight

Police have been given the video and many are wondering why the man wasn't removed from the plane.

In today’s white privilege news, an old white man yelled a bunch of racial slurs at a black woman seated near him on an airplane and nothing happened to him.

  • Viral video shows the man angrily yelling at the woman who initially refused to move before eventually asks to sit next to her daughter elsewhere on the plane.

"Don't talk to me in a foreign language, you stupid, ugly cow," he says, "If you don't go to another seat I'll put you in another seat." He also called the woman an “ugly black bastard.”

  • The incident reportedly happened on a Ryanair flight about to take off from Barcelona Airport. It’s been reported to Essex police who are currently investigating. Robin Kiely, Ryanair’s head of communications, confirmed to BuzzFeed News on Sunday (October 21) that they were the ones to report the incident to authorities.

"We have reported this to the police in Essex and as this is now a police matter, we cannot comment further," Keily said. Many watching the video and even those on the flight are wondering why the man wasn’t removed from the plane. Even Karl Turner, the UK’s shadow transport minister and Labour MP, criticized the airline company for not taking more aggressive action with the man.

  • “He should have been removed from the flight and handed over to the police,” he tweeted. “We assume the aircraft was in the UK. If it was, he definitely committed criminal offences. I fully expect @Ryanair to confirm the situation if In fact it was their flight?”

The daughter who was on the flight with the elderly woman says her mom felt "upset and very stressed about this situation."

Damn, white privilege shows its face even when racism is happening. SMH.
