On Monday, May 6, Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, welcomed their first child into the world, and our favorite first lady was one of the first people to congratulate them.
After the official Twitter account for the Royal Family announced Meghan safely delivered a baby boy, former first lady Michelle Obama sent a special message to the Duke and Duchess.
“Congratulations, Meghan and Harry! Barack and I are so thrilled for both of you and can't wait to meet him," Obama tweeted.
When Michelle Obama was on her Becoming book tour, she met with the Duchess of Sussex and gave her some motherhood advice.
"Meghan and Michelle met after the discussion and chatted for a long time. They’re very close," a source revealed at the time.
Even before meeting Meghan, Prince Harry had a close relationship with the Obamas. The Obamas and Prince Harry joined together to promote the Invictus Games in 2016.
After leaving office, Barack and Michelle Obama continued to have a close relationship with the British Royal Family.
