Ilhan Omar Issues Denial On Allegations She Had An Affair With Married DC Political Consultant

Dr. Beth Mynett claimed in a divorce filing against her husband, Tim Mynett, that he confessed his love for Omar months ago.

Rep. Ilhan Omar is under fire again. This time for allegedly breaking up a marriage between her political consultant, Tim Mynett, and his wife, Beth, which she denies.

“I have no interest in really allowing the conversation about my personal life to continue,” the Minnesota congresswoman said in an interview with WCCO on Tuesday -- the same day Mrs. Mynett filed for divorce -- after being asked to confirm whether she was separated from her husband, the father of her three children, Ahmed Hirsi, whom she married last year, and/or if she was dating someone.

Just nine months in office and Rep. Omar has faced a slew of accusations. The marital affair is the latest, following claims she’s anti-semitic and even that she once married her own brother to obtain American citizenship. She’s denied it all. Even when Trump told her and two other freshman congresswomen to go back where they came from.

In the latest scandal reportedly involving Rep. Omar, Dr. Beth Mynett's detailed claims include that not only did her husband confess his love for the congresswoman back in April, but that he also denied any option of reconciliation for the marriage.

She went on to further claim while she was out of town once, Mr. Mynett took their 13-year-old son and Rep. Omar out to eat and she presented the boy with a gift before returning to the home with them after the dinner.

The next night, with Mrs. Mynett still away, Mr. Mynett told their son he had to go to an event with Rep. Omar and never returned home that night.

Dr. Mynett described her estranged husband’s parenting as “sporadic,” and points to the affair as to what is truly keeping him away from home, not long work hours as he’s said.

Mr. Mynett’s company, E. Street Group, was allegedly paid more than $200,000 from August 2018 through June of this year for things like digital communications and fundraising consulting, according to Federal Election Commission records

“E Street Group does not comment on the personal life of either our staff or clients,” the company said in a statement to BuzzFeed News

“I know who I am. The people I love know who I am and what I care about,” she said. “And I have three beautiful little children and a family to care for. And so for me, my focus is really in doing the work that I feel I was destined to do.”

To Trump, she asks that he “put his personal vendettas aside and to focus on the task ahead.”

In a response to Alabama Republicans working to expel Rep. Omar from the house, she tweeted Tuesday, “Sorry, @ALGOPHQ, but this is a representative democracy. I was elected with 78% of the vote by the people of Minnesota’s 5th District, not the Alabama Republican Party. If you want to clean up politics, maybe don’t nominate an accused child molester as your Senate candidate?”
