Numerous Democratic presidential candidates are calling for new investigations into Brett Kavanaugh and a past FBI probe into his behavior as another sexual misconduct accusation has been levied against the Supreme Court justice. The new allegation surfaced on Saturday (September 14) as part of a New York Times article.
Max Stier, a college classmate of Kavanaugh’s, told the New York Times he saw Kavanaugh drunk with his pants down at a Yale University party in the early 1980s where his friends pushed his penis into the hands of a female student.
The allegation is similar to the one levied against Kavanaugh last year by Deborah Ramirez, another former classmate. Stier reportedly informed senators and the FBI of the incident during Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings last year, but it was never investigated by the bureau.
The newest allegations also follow the 2018 Christine Blasey Ford hearings during which she publicly accused Kavanaugh of pinning her to a bed and trying to take her clothes off during a high school party.
Democrats running for president quickly reacted to the revelation, calling for a new investigation and for Kavanaugh’s impeachment.
See what they had to say, below.
I sat through those hearings. Brett Kavanaugh lied to the U.S. Senate and most importantly to the American people. He was put on the Court through a sham process and his place on the Court is an insult to the pursuit of truth and justice.— Kamala Harris (@KamalaHarris) September 15, 2019
He must be impeached.
Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation is a shame to the Supreme Court.— Julián Castro (@JulianCastro) September 15, 2019
This latest allegation of assault must be investigated.https://t.co/urvfd4dguL

Last year the Kavanaugh nomination was rammed through the Senate without a thorough examination of the allegations against him. Confirmation is not exoneration, and these newest revelations are disturbing. Like the man who appointed him, Kavanaugh should be impeached.— Elizabeth Warren (@ewarren) September 15, 2019
The revelations today confirm what we already knew: During his hearing, Kavanaugh faced credible accusations and likely lied to Congress. I support any appropriate constitutional mechanism to hold him accountable.— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) September 15, 2019
