The tragic murder of 28-year old Joshua Brown has his community and the nation reeling. Shanteya Victor, the ex-girlfriend of Brown and mother of one of his three children, took to Twitter to grieve the untimely death of her child’s young father. Besides `answers’ and ‘justice,’ her tweet continues, “My son just lost his dad three weeks before his first birthday. Keep our baby boy in your prayers, please.” #JusticeForJoshuaBrown #RestEasyKing.”

The devastated mother has also started a GoFundMe campaign to raise $30,000.00 for Brown’s funeral expenses, additional financial support for the three mothers of his three children. [And,] Lastly, to any efforts in finding the truth and receiving justice for Joshua.”

In another tweet, Victor shared a poignant video of the couple’s son and described Joshua Brown as a “good father.”

According to the GoFundMe, Victor hopes Brown’s murder will “bring awareness to stopping gun violence in our inner cities” and “fixing our justice system to work for everyone.” 

Joshua Brown, the neighbor and key prosecution witness in the murder trial of Botham Jean, was reportedly shot and killed in Dallas on Friday, October 4, 10 days after Brown  testified in court. 

Brown was allegedly found when officers arrived on the scene around 10:30 p.m. According to the Dallas Morning News, “several witnesses flagged down police and directed them to Brown's location. Police found him on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds.”

No suspect has been identified, publicly.
