Missing Chicago Woman Found Dead

UPDATED Sept. 27, 2007 – Nailah Franklin, a missing Chicago woman who vanished eight days ago, is found dead, her uncle, Dwayne Johnson, confirms to WFLD-TV  in Chicago. However, Chicago Police nor Calumet City police have made a positive identification.

Police officials and investigators found the 28-year-old's naked, badly decomposed body in the Wentworth Woods Forest Preserve, not far from where her car and other belongings were found.

Franklin, a pharmaceutical sales representative for  Eli Lilly, was reported missing Sept. 19 after she missed a meeting at work. Her car was discovered in Hammond, Ind., on Friday night near an abandoned building.

On Tuesday, investigators shadowed Franklin’s daily regimen, checked security tapes from her apartment and attempted to follow up on reports of a complaint Franklin made shortly before her disappearance to Chicago Police about a man she once dated who left her threatening phone messages. The man has a criminal background and reportedly also threatened another former girlfriend, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. 

Police have not named a suspect in the case.
