'I Got Something for You,' School Shooter Warned

Posted Oct. 10, 2007 – A suspension earlier this week apparently made one student so mad that before leaving school Monday, he left this warning for his schoolmates: "I got something for you all."

On Wednesday, 14-year-old Asa Coon, a freshman at SuccessTech Academy, an alternative high school in Cleveland, walked back into his school, with a gun in each hand and started shooting.

So what caused Asa, described as short and chubby, to snap?  According to one of his neighbors, "he was pushed too far."

"He asked for help and no one would help him," the neighbor said, refusing to say anymore than that.

Asa reportedly got into a heated argument Monday with classmates over the existence of God.  He then insisted there was no God saying, "F--- God" and was beaten up.  That argument led to a fight which got him suspended.  Two days later, still suspended, Asa stormed back into the school, dressed in all black, and went on a revenge shooting.

Students say screams could be heard throughout the building as they ran to find hiding places.

"I thought it was just a fight," 18-year-old Darnell Rodgers said on CNN Thursday morning. "So I kept going. It took me a couple of minutes to realize I was actually shot in the arm."

Rodgers' sister, Tayana, said she had found a hiding place, but when she heard that her brother had been shot, she had to find him.

"I lost a brother before, and I didn't want to lose another one," she said.

Two teachers and two students were shot, before Asa turned the gun on himself.  One student tells CNN that Asa had put the word out that he was planning an attack, but no one believed him.

Asa, who reportedly had a history of mental health problems, was picked on, sources tell CNN.

Last year he was suspended from school for attempting to hurt a student.  He also had a juvenile record.  When he was 12 his mother called police to intervene in a fight between him and his twin sister.
