Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, rapper and president of Def Jam Records,  launched yet another initiative to aid underprivileged children – the I Will Not Lose Campaign.

:: AD ::

This year’s campaign joins the roster of two other foundations, Team Roc and the Shawn Carter Scholarship Fund, which Jay-Z already has in place.

The rapper is no stranger to community service; he is also involved in the Water for Life campaign that brings attention to the water crisis in Africa.

Struck by the sight of children playing near open sewers in an Angolan slum, the rapper says he thought back to the poor neighborhood where he grew up – exclaiming: "In my business, we like to say we're from the ’hood; we're not in the hood. By no means. Not even close."

This year the business man opens his third 40/40 club in Vegas.
