Former NFL running back David Meggett has been arrested on charges that he raped a South Carolina woman because she owed him $200, the Associated Press reports.

The woman, who was not identified because she is allegedly the victim of a sexual assault, says that when she woke up at about 1 a.m. Tuesday, she found Meggett, a man she knew as “Mike,” sitting on her bed, according to AP.   He demanded that she repay $200 she owed him and raped her when she said she didn’t have the money, she said. When he finished assaulting her, the woman said, Meggett said she didn’t have to repay him. She said she then drove herself to the hospital, where Meggett later met her and was arrested, police records show.

Meggett is accused of taking on other names with other women.  In September, Megget was charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct for allegedly raping a 17-year-old woman who said he told her his name was "Michael."

Megget, who spent most of his professional football career with the New York Giants, was released from the Patriots for charges of sexual assault with a woman who refused to continue having sex with him; charges were dropped, according to the AP.
