Charlotte, N.C. Police say they have captured the person who they believe shot and killed a pregnant 15-year-old Monday as she waited at a North Carolina school bus stop.

The victim's adopted brother, Royce Mitchell, 36, turned himself in to police on charges of allegedly raping Tiffany Wright. Police are calling him a person of interest in her murder. He was charged with statutory rape and taking indecent liberties with a minor and is being held without bond, police said.

A domestic dispute sparked the shooting, according to police spokesman Rob Tufano, who declined to offer more details.  The victim, Wright, was eight months’ pregnant. After being shot in the head, she was rushed to Carolinas Medical Center, where she later died, Tufano said.  Her baby was in critical condition, hospital spokeswoman Katie Ratchford told The Associated Press.

Tiffany was a student at Hawthorne High School, where she participated in a special program for pregnant students.
