Tiger Woods’ wife, Elin Nordegren, suspicious that her husband was cheating on her, set a text-message trap for New York nightclub host Rachel Uchitel, The New York Daily News reports.
"I miss you," Elin Nordegren texted, as Woods slept off an Ambien-induced stupor, the newspaper reports. "When are we seeing each other again?"
Uchitel texted back, and Nordegren followed that up with a phone call.
"I knew it was you," an angry Nordegren snapped back after Uchitel answered, according to the News, citing two sources close to Woods' wife.
"Oh, fu**," said a surprised Uchitel, who quickly hung up.
Nordegren was so angry, the News reports, that “she grabbed a golf club and chased her philandering husband out of their Florida mansion.”
Since then, Woods has been unmasked as a serial cheater with a harem of hotties and is now being treated for sex addiction at a Mississippi clinic.
Citing a source, the News writes, “The National Enquirer was about to blow the lid off his alleged affair with Uchitel and warned Nordegren on the day before Thanksgiving that the exposé was about to land.
“The golfer told Nordegren that he and Uchitel were just friends. He even put the New York party girl on the phone with his wife to reassure her.
“When Nordegren learned that the Enquirer was reporting that Tiger and Uchitel had a romantic rendezvous in Australia, she confronted the golfer.”
Exhausted from the fray, Woods took an Ambien and went to sleep, the report says.
That provided the window Nordegren needed to start peeping his cell phone numbers and text messages. In them, she found a text that read, "You are the only one I've loved," according to the News.
