First Lady Michelle Obama was on hand in Charlotte on March 2 to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), the oldest African-American athletic conference in the country. Founded in 1912, the CIAA consists of Historically Black Colleges and Universities spanning the east coast from Pennsylvania to North Carolina. She also hosted an event in conjunction with her Let’s Move! campaign against childhood obesity, which marked its two-year anniversary in February.
