Brittney Griner is all about celebrating her uniqueness.

The Phoenix Mercury center is a multi-faceted athlete in every sense of the word. Aside from being the league's first lesbian basketball player to land an enforcement deal with Nike, Griner is an admitted Space Jam fanatic, who doesn't mind a little country music in her playlist every once in a while.

Needless to say, there are lots of layers to Griner which she shares via her memoir, In My Skin. sat down with the 23-year-old star athlete to take on a few questions about her hobbies, music, and her new book.

While life has changed since she joined the league, there's one thing that stays the same: her love for a certain basketball movies starring Michael Jordan. "I would love to remake Space Jam!" she tells us of the 1996 flick. "Oh my God, I would love to do it!"

Whether she intends to or not, Griner is all about breaking barriers. She proudly identifies as a lesbian, and feels most comfortable in men's clothing. The professional ball player knows what she likes, and has no problem wearing the fashion that's most suitable for her. She's equally as confident in her eclectic music choices. "Rich Homie Quan, Jay Z, Drake…. little bit of a country fan," she says of her favorite artists. "Trace Atkins..a little out there but I like listening to Trace Atkins and I love Kanye West."

Just as she has no problem mixing it up in music, her new book is one that appeals to readers no matter their sexual orientation, gender or race.  Ultimately, In My Skin aims to help others accept and honor their differences.

"It's important to just get my message across that just being in your skin and being true to yourself, just loving who you are," she explains.  "Everybody should do that, no matter if you're in the LGBT community, African-American… you can apply that to anything honestly. Just loving who you are, that's just a great message to have and embrace."
