LeGarrette Blount Suspended for Substance Abuse Violation
LeGarrette Blount has gotten into trouble for the second straight off-season.
The New England Patriots running back was suspended without pay Tuesday and will miss the 2015 NFL season opener after violating the league's substance-abuse policy, ESPN is reporting. ESPN adds that Blount can actually miss up to two games due to his arrest last August.
Last summer, Blount and his former Pittsburgh Steelers teammate Le'Veon Bell were arrested after police found a small amount of marijuana in Bell's car during a traffic stop in Pittsburgh.
The Steelers released Blount in the middle of the 2014 season last November, after he walked off the field before a game was over. The Patriots immediately signed him and he would rush for 281 yards and three touchdowns to end the regular season before the team went on to win the Super Bowl in February.
