If you attack Stephen A. Smith's credibility, just know he's not going to take it lightly.
The outspoken ESPN personality vociferously fired back at Kevin Durant on Monday a few days after the NBA superstar called him a liar.
"Kevin Durant is the one that's lying," Smith said on ESPN's First Take on Monday.
This follows Smith saying last week on First Take that Los Angeles would be the forward's top free-agent city over his hometown Washington D.C. or Miami, if he doesn't re-sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder this summer.
Hearing that, Durant told the media over the weekend, as reported by ESPN, that: "I don't talk to Stephen A. Smith at all. Nobody in my family, my friends—they don't talk to Stephen A Smith. So he's lying. If you ask me a question, I'll talk about them. But like I said before, I have people who I talk to about everything, and I know for a fact they didn't talk to him, so he's making up stories."
On Monday, Smith proceeded to say that he has spoken with KD multiple times through the years, including several times within the last year.
"That statement that he came out with was a surprise to me because I had no idea that he had any kind of problem with me whatsoever," Smith said.
"The last point I would like to make is that if nobody speaks to me then maybe you need to check with folks in your inner circle again and ask why did I receive phone calls over this weekend with people saying, 'let's chill with this beef going on'?" Smith continued later in his rant.
Smith added that although he's incredibly offended by the personal attack that KD aimed toward him, he maintained that Durant is a good individual and his problem is with his remarks and not the person.
Smith also told Durant that "you don't know who I talk to" and “you don’t want to make an enemy out of me...and I am looking right at the camera.”
