Flagrant Foul: Woman Admits to Faking Assault Against Grizzlies' Zach Randolph

All an attempt to shake the NBA star down for cash.

Somebody whistle Zach Randolph's accuser for a flagrant foul.

The woman who filed a police report with the LAPD, alleging that the Memphis Grizzlies' star power forward assaulted her and choked her on March 23, has admitted to making up the whole story in a shameless cash-grab attempt.

Just like that, the case has already been chucked from the LA County District Attorney's office... but not before Randolph's reputation has taken a hit.

TMZ Sports is reporting that exactly one week after filing the report, the woman told police that the two had an argument, but that Randolph never laid a finger on her.

"She was upset and decided to file a fabricated police report and 'just wanted to get his money,'" TMZ obtained documents of what cops were told by the faux victim.

She even signed a document, confirming that she made up the entire assault story.

But wait... it gets worse.

The woman told police that her neck and back injuries, which she originally claimed Randolph caused, were self-inflicted by her and her friend to build up a case against the NBA star.

If this is indeed the truth now, then it's just wrong that Z-Bo's reputation had to take a hit for a fabricated story. Darn shame.

On the bright side, at least he can concentrate on the NBA playoffs with a clear mind now.

The bad news is his Grizzlies have a first-round match up with the San Antonio Spurs, beginning this Sunday.
