Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has come a long way to his current position as an international box office superstar.
But no matter how much his films gross, Johnson will never forget where he became a household name as The Rock — with World Wrestling Entertainment.
Closing in on nearly 20 years since The Rock made his WWE debut, Johnson took to his YouTube account to react to his very first match with the company.
That debut came on November 17, 1996, live from New York City's Madison Square Garden during WWE's Survivor Series pay-per-view event. There, the then-24-year-old, third-generation wrestler was pitted up against the likes of Goldust and Crush, who have since passed away.
At the time, WWE marketed him as Rocky Maivia, a babyface hero in the making. It would take some time for Johnson to morph that character into The Rock, "The People's Champion" and most-electrifying man in sports entertainment history.
But as The Rock took this stroll through memory lane, reacting to his very first WWE match, what stands out more than anything is how he responds to his old hairdo.
"So, right now I am feeling myself," Johnson said as he looked at footage of him entering the ring nearly 20 years ago. "I'm so hyped up, I'm so excited aaannnd ... I got a f**king Chia Pet on my head as a haircut."
