Meanest NFL Star Hustling as Offseason Intern

Ndamukong Suh has his eyes set on life after football.

Ndamukong Suh has an earned reputation for being the meanest player in the NFL.

Hey, that rep is what helped the 6-foot-4, 320-pound defensive end ink a $114 million contract with $60 million in guaranteed cash with the Miami Dolphins last offseason.

This offseason, though, Suh isn't earning a penny. (Not that he needs it).

TMZ Sports is reporting that Suh has taken a three-day unpaid internship working with Related Companies, the billion-dollar conglomerate owned by Dolphins owner Stephen M. Ross.

Obviously, Suh was hooked up with the opportunity through his boss, but it's pretty cool, nonetheless, that he's taking interest.

TMZ even posted a video from Suh's Snapchat showing his first day as an intern as he checks out several construction sites, including Related Companies' new $15 billion project in the lower Manhattan section of New York City. The celebrity news site adds that he has sat in on meetings as well.

"Great first day of my shadowing internship," Suh says in the short clip. "Day One — excited, enjoyed it, learned a lot. Bunch of beautiful buildings today."

A Related Companies rep added: "Mr. Ross believes in making himself available to all of the players as they explore their post-football career interests in the off-season. Ndamukong expressed a keen interest in real estate and is here at Related and Hudson Yards for an intense three-day internship.”

Go ahead, Ndamukong! Discover new horizons. Do your thing.

Athletes taking internships and part-time jobs in the business world isn't anything new, though.

Harrison Barnes, of the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors, had an externship with Facebook and his teammate Andre Iguodala advised Twice, a start-up company acquired by eBay last year.

It will be interesting to see if Suh can translate his internship experience into a possible career after football.

Options are a beautiful thing.
