Spurs' Kawhi Leonard Makes Over $16 Million a Year and Drives a 1997 Chevy Tahoe

Here are some of the best tweets about his hooptie.

Kawhi Leonard is keeping it all the way real out here, not letting the riches of the NBA change who he is as a person at all.

Despite signing a five-year, $94 million extension over the summer, including upwards of $16 million in his salary this season alone, the San Antonio Spurs' All-Star small forward still drives his 1997 Chevy Tahoe.

"It runs, and it's paid off," Leonard, the 2014 NBA Finals MVP, told Sports Illustrated, as part of a recent feature story about the quiet, no-nonsense star.

Well, of course it's paid off. You're rich!

But wait... it gets better.

Part of the feature reported that his sponsor Wingstop sends him coupons, so he could get his fill of Mango Habanero wings, adding that he freaked out when losing the coupons once... even though it was after he inked that $94 million extension.

Before you drag Kawhi on social media for being too frugal, let us be the first to say that we're not mad at the humble star.

Just because he struck it rich doesn't mean he has to cash out on a six-figure whip the way many of his NBA peers do. Maybe he doesn't want to bring attention to himself.

That being said, there's no excuses for the Wingstop coupons, bruh. OK, so you lost coupons for Wingstop... you'll live, man.

Maybe Rick Ross should send him a lifetime supply. Hunh!

All jokes aside, Kawhi might be reserved off the court, but he continues to have one of the loudest games on it.

Don't sleep on "The Claw."
