Watching Northern Iowa lose a 12-point lead in 44 seconds to eventually be eliminated by Texas A&M in overtime during the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday night was enough for some people to call it the worst choke in sports history.
And now, LeBron James is adding insult to injury.
When asked about about the horrendous collapse, King James showed the mid-major collegiate hoops program no mercy for blowing such a lead.
"I would quit basketball," James told reporters. "If I was on Northern Iowa, I would quit."
Ouch. Coming from one of the best players ever, that's got to hurt.
Though, LeBron cracked a slight smile, there's truth in jest.
Northern Iowa and the players on that team will always be synonymous with that prolific choke.
Hopefully each and every player on that squad picked out a good major that they're taking seriously in school, because hoops just might not be part of their future and James egging them on to give it up just may make sense.
Still can't believe that epic failure of simply not being able to run out the clock and withstand the defensive pressure.
