Kyrie Irving Clears Air Over Kehlani Situation

Still, the damage is done.

Published March 31, 2016

Rough week for Kyrie Irving.

When PartyNextDoor posted an Instagram shot of himself holding hands with R&B singer Kehlani on Monday, Irving become the butt of all social media's jokes, being roasted to the highest degree and turned into a trending topic for all the wrong reasons.

The jokes came without mercy for the Cleveland Cavaliers' star point guard, who was just posting shots online of him and Kehlani together and happy two weeks prior. Though she thanked PND for saving her life Tuesday morning, adding that she didn't cheat on Irving, that didn't stop the Internet from continuing to pound Irving into the ground.

After being silent Monday and Tuesday, Kyrie jumped on his own Twitter account Wednesday evening to clear the air.

"It's been hard to see what's been going on and not address the truth. I do not justify the picture or what dude did to try and spark all of this nonsense that could have been avoided, but me and Kehlani were not dating when the picture came out," Irving wrote in tweets that have since been deleted, but were reported by Sports Illustrated. "It's unfortunate that it's received so much attention but its become bigger because of a post that was misunderstood. Nothing but love and compassion over this way for her and her family. My only focus [is] the game I love to play every night."

That should be music to LeBron James's ears, as the Cavs are again in the hunt for an NBA title with the start of the NBA playoffs just weeks away.

Needless to say, King James needs all of his teammates' minds in the game, especially Irving's.

Seems like Kyrie is turning the page. Maybe we should, too.
