Former MMA Star War Machine Slammed for Lame Apology to Ex-Girlfriend After Conviction for Nearly Beating Her to Death

People weren't here for his "I am sorry for the man I was."

Former MMA star, Jonathan Paul Koppenhaver, who legally changed his name to War Machine, was convicted last week on 29 counts for the brutal 2014 kidnapping and sexual assault of his porn star ex-girlfriend, Christy Mack. The 35-year-old is slated to be sentenced on June 5.

Sitting in the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas yesterday, War Machine allegedly broke his silence in a twisted fashion, first tweeting a Johnny Cash lyric, before somehow reasoning that his conviction gave him "joy." He followed that up with an apology to Mack, saying, "I am sorry for the man that I was" and "I am sorry for hurting you." He even went as far as to say that he hopes she will visit him when her wounds are fully healed from the near-death assault he inflicted upon her.

Sick. And people weren't buying his apology at all, blasting him with wishes to "rot" in prison and more.

Here's War Machine's alleged full apology statement followed by the severe backlash he got for it.

  • War Machine's Lengthy Apology Tweet

    Unreal.

  • People Had Made Up Their Mind on War Machine Well Before His Lame Apology

    Agreed.

  • And for good measure, nobody is buying that apology of his

    #Facts.

  • One Follower Even Suggested A Name Change

He'll have plenty of time to think about his vile, egregious act.

  • 'Rot In Prison'

In other words, do the cold, hard time.

  • Your Apology Is Empty

This pretty much sums it up.
