New Team who dis? Paul George Joins Westbrook in OKC!

Which superstar could be next?

The Indiana pacers have agreed to trade forward Paul George to the Oklahoma City Thunder, according to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne.

In return for George, the Pacers will acquire guard Victor Oladipo and second-year center Domantas Sabonis.

The four-time All-Star will join 2017 NBA MVP Russell Westbrook and fundamentally change the dynamics of this offseason’s free agency moves. Many expected that George’s eventual trade would begin a domino-effect for other players looking for new teams.

For weeks, there had been speculation as to where PG would land. Few believed the 27-year-old would end up in OKC after he informed the Pacers that he wanted to be traded. Cleveland, Boston and Houston were previously speculated as the most likely organizations to land George’s services.

Since the draft, the Thunder had been pursuing trades in order to pair Westbrook with another all-star and were pushing for deals with George and Jimmy Butler, who ended up leaving the Chicago Bulls for the Minnesota Timberwolves on draft night.

Oklahoma City hopes to begin upping their win total immediately with the move. The team acquired George’s contract, which has only one year left on it. If he chooses, he can head to another team after the 2017/18 season.
