Serena Williams is due to become a mother for the first time, slated to give birth next month.
But the legendary tennis player is finding herself in the crosshairs of some people for controversial comments she made recently. Appearing on the cover of Ireland-based Stellar magazine, Williams said that she's "about to be a real woman" via having her first child.
“I have so much respect for so many women [for giving birth]," the 35-year-old told the publication, showing off her pronounced baby bump on the cover. "I am about to be a real woman now, you know? It’s going to be something incredibly impressive to go through.”
That "real woman" remark didn't sit right with some people, who chose to drag the tennis GOAT and let her know that she's out of bounds.
That "real woman" remark definitely irked some.
And the dragging was just beginning.
Damn, they're sending backhand shots to Serena's side of the court quickly.
Sorry, Serena, but those are #Facts.
Hard to argue against this point.
Not a good look is right.
Damn, Serena. You walked into all of this.
Very true. You were Superwoman before and will be Superwoman after and it doesn't have anything to do with you giving birth.
