Kent State Community Mourns The Tragic And Sudden Loss Of A Student Who Died After Collapsing On The Basketball Court
The Kent State University community is in mourning over the tragic death of one of its beloved students.
Devin Moore, a senior journalism major, died Wednesday after he suddenly collapsed while playing basketball at the school's Student Recreation and Wellness Center, as reported by local Cleveland 19 News.
According to the Daily Mail, Moore was rushed to the University Hospitals Portage Medical Center after a failed CPR attempt and was pronounced dead. His age wasn't immediately reported nor was the cause of his collapse.
Moore's last Instagram post, just five days ago, was flooded with messages of condolences.
The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. that he belonged to also expressed its condolences to its late and cherished brother.
And messages like that extended outside of the frat, too.
Upon learning about the tragic news yesterday, this was the emotional scene on campus, as students gathered around to remember their fallen friend with a candlelight vigil.
Prayers up to the young man and condolences to his family.
