People Are Slamming Jacob Copeland's Mom For Ruining His Special Moment With Her Bad Attitude By Walking Out After He Committed To Florida

She eventually came back and hugged her son.

For any young athlete football player with dreams of playing for a top school, or even the NFL, National Signing Day is one of most anticipated days of the year. However, the day took an unexpected turn for four-star wide receiver Jacob Copeland when his mother appeared to disapprove of his decision.

During the signing, Jacob sat at a table with three hats before him, one Florida, one Alabama, and one Tennessee. Surrounding the athlete were members of his family who wore apparel for either Alabama or Tennessee. Despite the assumption that he would be committing to one of those schools, Jacob surprisingly lifted the Florida hat, indicating that he had committed to be a Gator.

  • Right after Jacob announced his decision to sign with Florida, his mother abruptly got up and left her seat

Not only to did Jacob's mother get up during the signing, but she also walked right in front of the table so the camera could catch the tense moment.

  • As the clip went viral, people began calling his mother out for her "shady" move

  • Some found it hard to believe that Jacob's mother would actually leave

  • Eventually his mother returned and gave the future college star a big, congratulatory hug

  • Her return to support her son was met with mixed reactions
